Forklifts are very essential to move heavy loads of warehouse or construction companies. Forklifts are used to transport the goods and materials or heavier and bulkier loads. By using this vehicle, you can increase the efficiency of your daily business operations. There are several styles, models and types of forklifts are available and each one has its own benefit or best used. The most important types of forklift are side loader, counterbalance forklift, telehandler, industrial forklift, rough terrain forklift, pallet jack, walkie stacker, reach fork truck and order picker, pedestrian operated pallet trucks, high capacity forklifts, electric forklifts, IC forklifts, internal combustion engine forklifts, aerial lifts, personal lifts, scissor lifts, rider pallet trucks, cushion tires forklifts, pneumatic tire forklifts, narrow aisle forklifts, container handlers, aerial lifts.

Four wheel counterbalance:

This most common type of forklift is used to lift heavy or bulky loads with its dual forks. These counterbalance lifts are used by many warehouses facilities.

 Three-wheel counterbalance:

This lift has three wheels and is great fit for narrow spaces or for small warehouses.

Side loaders:

Unlike traditional lifts, these lifting trucks are used to lift large loads with their forks. These lifts are used for indoors and outdoors purposes.

Forklifts have following classifications depending upon their structure and fuel options:

Electric motor driven trucks:

These forklifts make use of industrial batteries and transistors for traveling and hoist functions. Electric motor driven lifts can have cushion or pneumatic tires. Electric lifts with pneumatic tires are used for outdoor purposes or to run on smooth and uneven grounds. Cushion lifting truck or electric lift with cushion tire is used for smoother grounds or for indoor purposes.

Electric motor narrow aisle trucks:

These small types trucks are operated in narrow spaces or for racking and shelving. These lifts not only are utilized by many firms or have a great utility and occupy less space but also have great features of speed and efficiency.

Solid cushion and electric solid cushion trucks:

Solid cushion lifts and electric solid cushion lifts have tires of solid rubber or polyurethane. This enables these lifts to endure punctures and it needs less maintenance. On the other hand pneumatic lift has less durability to puncture and it needs more maintenance. Solid cushion lifts and electric solid cushion lift have less capacity to absorb shocks due to their solid tires. Electric solid cushion lift and solid cushion have only difference in using the batteries of different voltage.

Internal combustion trucks:

These forklifts have two variants such as cushion or pneumatic tires. These forklifts run on different fuel options such as LPG, CNG, Gasoline and diesel. Forklifts that run on gas are used for outdoor purposes and lifts that operate on LPG are used for indoor purposes. These lifting trucks are less expensive than electric driven lifts but their maintenance and fuel cost make the usage of these combustion trucks more expensive.

Electric and internal combustion engine forklifts:

Electric lifting truck runs on batteries and needs less maintenance. Its battery needs to be charged periodically to make this lift keep on running or functioning. These lifts have less maintenance and operational cost than combustion lifting trucks.

By following this guide, you will be able to select the right forklift according to your business needs.
